What Causes Unusual Bruises On The Body After Taking Novocaine?

Question: My wife has had multiple bruises over her body in less then two days. Some are large
She had 6 Novocain shots 2 days ago for gum surgery. She said after the shots her body was shaking

Anything we can do? She had blood work done in an emergence yesterday room last night and they said everything is ok.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX looks like it is a delayed reaction to Novocaine or some other medication given along with it. Normally testing is done before administering Novocaine, and I'm sure it was done. But there can still be a delayed reaction although I'm a little surprised at the severity. Please give her Fexofenadine 120 mg and a Clorpheneramine preparation 25 mgs twice a day. If there is no improvement in six hours please take her to ER. In any case keep your doctor updated. If there is improvement, you can continue till it clears or you see your doctor. Chlorpheneramine can lead to drowsiness, so once there is improvement, cut its dosage to half tablet.
