Brief Answer:
Injured rib or myositis

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns.

The upper back pain with breathing can either be due to a sprained rib ( rib injury) or due to a bruised muscle or myositis.

I would recommend that you get an X-ray chest to exclude the presence of sprained or injured rib...

In the meanwhile, you can take an analgesic anti-inflammatory as ibuprofen tablets 200mg every 8 hours (after food) that will relieve the pain and help treat myositis or bruised muscle if present.

I hope I answered your question.
