Question: Dear dr,

My wife is 25 years old. My wife period usually clear up after 7 days. Sometimes it will drag on with some brown stains for another 2-3 days after the first 7 days. Recently ,2 weeks after her "10" days period, she found that there are brown stains again. It seemed unfinished period but they are not as red as normal one. And quite a lot.
XXXXXXX had this problem on and off over a period of est 5 years. We had our first child 2 years ago. It was all well . Recently this issue came back. She had been to specialist n done ultrasound during her previous episode. It was normal. Blood test was also fine . The doctor only prescribe medicine to stop bleeding .

Pls give me ur advise.

Brief Answer:
Progesterone disturbances

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Post menstrual spotting and bleeding is usually due to the hormonal disturbance of progesterone levels.
I will suggest her to take progesterone medications like Regestrone tablet once daily for 21 days, starting from the day 5 of periods.
This should be followed for 3 months, and then see for the resolution of the spotting.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
