What Causes Vaginal Bleeding And Breast Tenderness After Menopause?
Question: I have been in menopause for 18 months. A few days ago I felt breast tenderness then today had vaginal bleeding. I am about 8 months behind on yearly check-ups do to serious family issues. All the sites talk about this as a sign of uterine cancer. I will call my ob. tomorrow but am feeling seriously scared. I had an aneurysm many years ago and a bleed from cavernoma in brain not considered operable but followed closely.
Brief Answer:
Get an ultrasound pelvis for Endometrial thickness.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for contacting health care magic.
I agree with you that any form of bleeding in post menopausal age group has to be examined for any evidence of uterine cancer.
you must visit your gynecologist for a pap smear and an ultrasound pelvis to look for endometrial thickness. If found to be more than 5mm an endometrial biopsy is warranted to rule out any pathognomic condition by histopathological examination.
Also get your FSH and LH values done to look for menopausal status.
