What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Intercourse In A 45 Year Old Woman?
Question: Hi, 3 weeks ago I went back onto the pill Cerelle. I am 45 years old and have recently started seeing a new partner. We have had sex three times since Thursday and each time I have bled quite heavily. It stops as soon as we have finished and there is no sign of blood before or after. I had a similar problem four years ago and was investigated (though I cannot remember the procedure it was under a general) and everything was fine.

As you are currently on CERELLE pill (progesterone only mini-pill), then your chance of pregnancy is quite LOW (less than 1%) and it also depends on your fertile days.
Last thing, I suggest you to undergo one Trans Vaginal Ultrasound scan (TVS) to check uterine or cervical polyp (common in your age). Review with report or consult with your doctor.
Maintain genital hygiene properly. Use proper lubrication during sex. Good luck.
