What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post Intercourse?

default
Posted on Fri, 20 May 2016
Question: I'm 40. Ive had light bleeding the last few months after normal sex but no pain. Ive been treated for moderate dysplasia two times in the past. Ive had two normal pregnancies. Ive had a normal pap about 6-7 months ago. I'm definitely not pregnant, my husband has had a vasectomy. What could the bleeding be from?

Brief Answer:
Colposcopy advised

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Bleeding after intercourse can be due to vaginal or cervical infection, dysplasia or cancer.
If the pap smear was negative, then I will suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined internally and get a colposcopy done to confirm the diagnosis and get appropriate treatment.
Sometimes, the pap smear is not confirmatory of the disease and in such cases, colposcopy should be done.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
