What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post Menopause?
Question: i am almost seventy-two and am experiencing inconsistent vaginal bleeding. I have been menopausal for eighteen years. Can vaginal dryness cause bleeding?
Brief Answer:
Post menopausal bleeding
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Post menopausal bleeding could be because of extreme vaginal dryness and it most often seen after sexual intercourse
However post menopausal bleeding should always be evaluated, I strongly advice you to approach a Gynaecologist for a scan of the endometrium and also a PAP smear test as soon as possible as it is recurrent in nature.
The other most common causes of post menopausal bleeding are
1. Uterine polyps
2. Endometrial atrophy
3. Endometrial hyperplasia
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me, I will be happy to help
I wish you good health
