What Causes Vaginal Bleeding When Suffering From Endometriosis?
Question: Hi , I'm 57 years old. I had post coital bleeding. Just once and went for ultrasound ovaries very small normal. Uterus lining 1.5mm Had uterine biopsy negative. Today I had pain and some bleeding very little .
I have intermittent constipation and urinary smptoms. I had endometriosis and ic of bladder. My question is
If the bleeding continues what else should I do. Does negative ultrasound rule out ovarian cancer?
Thank-you so much

Brief Answer:
Consult a gynaecologist and colposcopy test done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us about it.
I can understand your concern, though.
I have gone through your history and in my opinion in your case if bleeding continues you should consult a gynecologist and get your colposcopy and biopsy test done to rule out the cause of bleeding.
Negative ultrasound alone does not rule out ovarian cancer if suspected (family history is there and other predisposing factors present )you can go for an ovarian marker test and CT pelvis and abdomen to rule the ovarian cancer.
Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more questions.
Good luck.

Thank-you I did get a colopocopy and uterine biopsy. My gynocologist feels bleeding coming from dryness and the bleeding today from the uterine biopsy last week. No family history of ovarian cancer. Urinary symptoms constant feeling of needing to go and occasional constipation . These symptoms intermittent and not new to me. Bleeding only twice but if it continues what would be your suggestion.
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much!
Brief Answer:
Transvaginal ultrasound or histogram.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Nice to hear from you again.
If your colposcopy and biopsy reports are normal, then you should go for transvaginal ultrasound or histogram( in which fluid is injected into the uterus to see the polyp and fibroid in uterus which may be the cause of bleeding).
Your other symptoms may be due to endometriosis.
Sometimes it is very difficult to find out the cause of post coital bleeding.
As your all the reports seem to be normal and if you are not suffering from cervical and endometrial cancer, infection, polyp, fibroid (common causes of bleeding) then it may be due to vaginal dryness. At your age vaginal dryness occurs due to estrogen deficiency.
Revert to me with your reports.
Good luck.
