Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
THe itching could be because of an infection, irritation, dryness etc.
Are you menopausal ?
Could you upload pictures of the lump please ?
That would help me to formulate a diagnosis.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.

I have recently changed my laundry soap
i have very sensitive skin and do not typically change feminine products or use things i am not used to because of prior issues. my skin in sensitive to new things
i am 50 and have not experienced menopause yet that i know of. could this be a symptom of that or pre menopause? my mother and sister hit menopause around 53-55. one sister had breast cancer and experienced it at 40 due to chemo and radiation.
i have been shaving this area since i was 30.
the itching does not happen every night -- but i'm noticing it on a regular basis around 4-6 weeks it occurs and it is keeping me up at night. I do everything I can not to scratch with fingernails and try to scratch thru underclothes etc. as a barrier to my skin. I have changed my bar soap recently but it is one i've used previously so i don't think that is it. when i experience an "outbreak" i notice it for about 4-5 days and then it subsides.

Can you send bigger size pictures.
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
The pictures are very very tiny, could you send them in more pixels, better resolution please ???
Also describe the location of the lump and itching with a pointer or with detailed description please.
I want to look at the area, before offering further comments.
Thanks .

Hi,
I tried sending two more photos. i hope you are able to view them.
I am not certain you have viewed the new pictures but i attempted to put my fingers close to where the small lump is. It has actually gone down quite a bit from yesterday and i experienced no itching whatsoever last night. The small lump is not "hard" I have had other lumps in lymph nodes over the years and this one feels similar to those. Not hard like a marble but more like slightly firm.
it's about the length of my fingernail and it is located on the outer skin part. There is no discharge at all and no odor. it's just there. And the skin on the outside of the vagina area is where it is itchy. It doesn't happen every day. but when it does, it's typically at night while i am sleeping and wakes me up.

Brief Answer:
As below.
Detailed Answer:
See this looks like a boil.
Basically an infection of the sweat glands / hair follicles.
Just dont handle the area much.
The itching could be due to the boil, dry skin due to peri menopause, or a reaction to the new product.
Dont use any intimate cleaning products.
In fact dont use any soap at all down there.
Just clean with lukewarm water.
Apply Mupirocin / Bacitracin ointment on the area.
If it does not resolve within a week, please see a gynecologist for oral antibiotics.
For the itching, try and take Cetirizine tablets at night.
Moisturize the area with plain Vaseline or coconut oil.
Take care.
