Question: I just switched Sunday to lo love strain after years on triphasil. Today there is a foul fishy odor. This is the only change. Is this a possible side effect?
Brief Answer:
May be related but not a common side effect!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this rather embarrassing odor that you have reported. This is not a common side effect of this drug. For now, I would prefer to say it is an association and should gradually fade away within days because no one would go on this drug for years with such a side effect profile.. Should the symptoms fail to resolve after at most a week, please consider changing the pills to something more friendly.
Fishy odor often represent a vaginal infection called vaginosis. In this case, there is an accompanied excessive vaginal discharge. I will also suggest that you get tested for this condition before settling entirely on this odor being related to the new love strain pill. But for the timing with the switch, this should have been the first possible cause.
In all, get tested for vaginosis. If cleared and the odor persists beyond a week, please consider switching to a more friendly pill.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information if needed.
