What Causes Vaginal Spotting After Taking Yaz Birth Control Pill?

Question: Hello,
Ive had light spotting the last couple of days however my period isnt due until next week. I take Yaz birth control every day at the same time without fail, however last sunday night I caught gastro and vomitted at around 12:30am. I took the pill at 5:30pm.
Would it have not absorbed properly due to throwing up? I cant see why id be spotting otherwise.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Side effect of birth control.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I can understand your concerns.
As you take pill at 5:30 PM and vomiting occur around 12 the pill get absorbed but this spotting can be a side effect of birth control pills.
I know you are taking the drug on time and regularly but as you are having stomach upset maybe it will not absorb properly and you will get withdrawal bleeding.
So keep watch on it may be it is a starting of your period or it can be due to so many causes like hormonal imbalance, infection, PCOD, fibroid, stress, anxiety also.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
