What Causes Vaginal Spotting During Pregnancy?

Question: Hi, my name is XXXXXXX XXXX,my wife is pregnant at 6weeks 3 days (according today ultra sound report), she reported a blood spot in last night that is date 07/05/2016 and today ultrasound shows decidual reaction is present,fetal cardiac activity is absent,no obvious adenexal mass lesion or free fluid is visualised and in the ultra sound comment non-viable pregnency....missed abortion. kindly suggest

Thanks for writing to us. I have reviewed the attached report.

1) At this stage of pregnancy, fetal cardiac activity, fetal pole and yolk sac should be visible through Trans Vaginal Ultrasound scan.

2) However, above features are totally ABSENT in the scan report and it ultimately progresses into MISSED ABORTION or Blighted Ovum. It is NOT a healthy pregnancy.

3) Medical termination of pregnancy is advisable and I suggest you to consult with your gynecologist for the procedure. It will be worthwhile.

Missed abortion can't be continued further. Therefore, you should consult with your treating gynecologist for termination of pregnancy with abortion pills (Misoprostol etc) or D & C.

Do chromosomal analysis of the deformed fetus to rule out abnormality if any. It will be much helpful in next pregnancy. Take vitamin and folic acid supplements for 3 months before planning.

Good afternoon doctor
Today morning i visited to Gyne specialist doctor with my wife and that dr. Said for abortion by tablet after seen the ultrasound report and gave same reason that you too. I took that tablet that you given the name in your reply yesturday that she took one tablet on 11:47Am today with normal water and 4 tablets are left in that pkt which will be take after 36hrs from the 1st tablet. I hope she will be get well soon.

And please sugest me a diet chart and suplements and vitamins tab or syrup for her good health and any other thing that will be good for her health. I describe her. Age 24, weight 45,height 5"1" please sugest me for future pregnency.

And another question that is in my mind before this pregnency doctor sugest me for semens test. Is it necessary or not . I feel guilt to do this test.
