What Causes Vascular Necrosis?
Question: Recent hip xray of my daughter's has revealed vascular necrosis with moderate pain. This is complicated by the problem of lymphedema of the leg. Any surgical intervention would put her at high risk of infection. An orthopeadic surgeon is reviewinf the films. Are my fears valid for a negative outcome? She is 43 with a chromosomal disorder with developmental disability but is very ambulatory.

The peculiar thing is that the lymphedema has been a problem for over 20 years and there has been no trauma or bruising. She just started limping and C/O pain about 5-6 weeks ago. Lymphedema is a very nasty condition that needs constant vigilance to prevent infections. Surgery just worries me since I am a nurse.
