Do Children With Brachdactyly Have An Average Life Expectancy?

my 9 year old son has brachydactyly, global developmental delay, constipation and short stature. He goes to a main stream school with one on one support and is generally a happy good natured child. I am his mother and I would like to know if his conditions are linked and if people with brachdactyly have an average life expectancy?

Pediatrician, Surgery 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. The isolated Brachydactaly have normal life expectancy, But if is associated with other syndromes. Based on syndrome baby's life expectancy varies, For example if the child is having Down syndrome they used to reach till midadulthood. Now with medical advancement they are reaching upto 50 - 60 yrs. I hope you have consulted a genetic specialist, if not i will advice you to consult.
I hope i have answered your question.

Wish Good Luck to your son.
