What Causes Vibrating Sensation At The Incision Site After Inguinal Hernia Surgery?
Question: I had inguinal hernia surgery about 2 years ago. Several months after the surgery I was still having some vibrations, then they stopped completely. About a week ago I accidentally ran into the corner of my office desk hitting the vicinity of my incision. A few days later some vibrations began, they only last a few seconds, there is not pain. Should I be concerned about this or just wait out the nerve restoration again?
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry about
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern
Parenthesis (aberrant sensations) are common at the incision site scar tissue. This is because of injury to superficial nerves at incision site.
Complete nerve growth may require 2-3 years or more.
There is nothing to be worried about
If you develop pain, swelling at the incision site follow up with the urgent care to rule out possibility of hernia recurrence.
