What Causes Vision Loss While Treating Metastatic Liver Cancer?
Question: My older Brother has liver cancer that metastizied to his lung and kidney. He had the Lund and kidney operated on and seems cancer free in those areas. After Chemo and targeted radiation his liver cancer is down to 20% and they are going to remove that part. FYI, he is an alcoholic and now he seems to be losing ability to see light in his left eye. All he was able to tell me was that his eyes are not receiving enough of something but doesn't know what. Can you explain a little more about what this might be?
Brief Answer:
Liver failure can be the reason.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thank you for the query.
If it is just one eye, brain metastasis should be ruled out. If he has it in both eyes, chemo reaction or liver failure can be the reason. In both cases he should see his oncologist. Liver tests should be done at first. Brain Ct should be considered.
Hope this helps.
