What Causes Vision Problems After A Cataract Surgery?
Question: I am a 61 year old female who had cataract surgery on my right eye about 2 months ago. I was to have the same surgery on my left eye, but do to other health issues I had to opt out of the eye surgery for a leg surgery. I decided to go ahead and purchase a new RX for my eyes, after the first surgery, my vision was too blurry. I picked up my new RX glasses today and was I surprised. Looking out my vision was great! at a reading distance, great. and at arms length great again. When I got in my car to drive, everything appears to be slanted. From my left everything is high then as I go right everything is low. Everything left is close, everything left is far away. When I cover my left eye, everything is good, when I cover my right eye, everything good. When I look out both eyes and look down at my legs, I have one skinny leg that is high up and one fat leg that is low. HELP?
Brief Answer:
Diopters differences might be the cause...
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I have gone through your medical history and understood your concerns.
You have had only 1 cataract surgery on your right eye. So, cataract was removed, the vision is cleared, no "obstacle" (cataract). Now, you might need glasses to have a perfect vision. I think, you should get your eyes checked by your ophthalmologist and get new eyeglasses according to your sight status.
Perhaps, you need different glasses (with different numbers - diopters) for each of your eyes. This explain why you are having differences while looking down at your legs or from your left to your right.
Hope it helped! Let me know if I can be of more help!
