Question: My 4 month old daughter vomited 5 times after eating cerelac. Doctor cleaned up her stomach as the cerelac might be the reason. later now she is sleeping fine for past 4 hours. she woke up twice in between, but she was not interested in drinking milk. she is looking very frightened and pity. i am very much concerned about her health. she already had this problem 2 months ago when we tried formula milk. later we avoided that and continued exclusive breast feeding. did i start the cerelac too soon? is this problem a very serious one? will she be alright in the morning?
Brief Answer:
The issue is nothing serious

Dear Mr XXXXXXX
Being a Parent myself I understand your concern and apprehension.
Let me come to the point. You have definitely started cerelac too early. Ideally exclusive breastfeeding is to be continued for 6 months.
Vomiting associated with introduction of feeds is likely to be due to
1. Intolerance/allergy to content of feeds.
2. Gastroesophageal reflux due to improper burping.
Also Cerelac has no added advantage compared to homage recipe.
There is no cause for concern, it's nothing serious. In the absence of distension of abdomen and fever there is absolutely no cause for concern.
She is comfortably sleeping is itself very reassuring. She will definitely wake up fine.
Do keep me posted.
I would suggest you to continue exclusive breastfeeding if possible.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
