What Causes Vomiting, Dizziness And Sweating?
These symptoms can lead to dehydration
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. I understand your symptoms and given the general nature of your issue, I can't really venture a guess at diagnosing what the problem is. I see that you have tried pepto-bismol to sooth your stomach. I hope that has helped things a bit.
In general, the things you can do at home to control the nausea are the most important at this stage. If you keep vomiting when you put anything in your stomach then eventually you will get dehydrated and need an IV in the emergency room. TO minimize the chances of that I would like you to try a few things.
1) Drink plain water for now. Drink only small amounts of water at a time. Too much water, too quickly can cause you to begin to throw up. Try sucking on an ice cube at first. The cool water feels good going down your throat and it's nearly impossible to drink too much water by melting the ice cube in your mouth.
2) If you think you can handle it, try to drink liquids that are high in potassium and sodium. These are among the body's most important electrolytes and are lost when you vomit up food or drink.
High electrolyte liquids include:
Weak tea
Bouillon cubes in water / broth
Apple juice
Sports drinks (like Gatorade)
3) Try an OTC like Emetrol.
If you can give me more information I would love to help out more!
