What Causes Vomiting In A Person With Dementia And Alzheimer's Disease?
Question: my mother has dementia and Alzheimer and today she vomited three times. Is this symptom of dementia or is this another ailment. Mum has lost her ability to verbally communicate due to her dementia. currently she is sleeping,

1. Vomiting could be due to gastritis or food indigestion. It is not related to dementia. Sleep disturbances due to dementia, if any could also cause it. When she wakes up, it should not be a problem.
2. Give her less spicy food and in small quantities.
3. If still vomiting persists, Domperidone medication, half an hour before food can be given. Avoid excessive fluids, so as not to over load stomach. Give it as usual in normal quantities.
