What Causes Vomiting Of Phlegm In A Baby?
Question: Hi, my baby girl is 18 months and has vomited 5 times this evening. She was on Taxim, Bricarix and Periton for viral infection for the past 4 days, which seemed to be getting cured. I gave this regular dosage before food. She has started vomiting phlegm and the food ever since. Please advise.
Brief Answer:
Stop Periton and start Ondem
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Vomiting she is having could be due to gastritits known to be a result of antibiotic course. Since antibiotic is necessary stopping is not wise.
Do give her antiemetic medication like Ondem syrup 5ml thrice daily food for two days after which controls vomiting. Also stop Syrup Periton as sometimes it can aggravate the a gastritis caused by the antibiotic.
Feed the baby with bland diet only. Do not give oily or spicy foods for a period of three days from now.
Wish you good health.
