What Causes Vomiting, Stomach Pain And Mild Fever In A Child?
Question: Dear Dr.,
My son (5.6 year old) had vomiting 3 episodes with stomach pain and mild fever three days back. No diarrhea but foul stools smell and stomach pain during stool passing. Consulted pediatrician. Diagnosed Gastroenteritis and prescribed Rantdac 3.5 ml thrice daily and Ondem 7.5 ml thrice daily and Enterogermina vials twice daily . Dr told symptoms improved means stop ondem and continue Rantdac 3.5. ml for three days. After first day, he is fine then after two days we stopped ondem and continuing Rantdac and Enterogermina . Third day he is again complaining with tolerable occasional stomach pain and and not willing to take food. Otherwise he is active and playing normally. when ever pain in stomach (Lower abdomen) he is sitting some time and playing. When asked Dr he told we will admit and observe. Is this that much serious. Is it necessary to admit. we are worried. Please advice.

Brief Answer:
Try Rantac. Try Decolic syrup.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The situation might not be critical but observation is required. You can try giving Rantac once again. Also give Decolic syrup after discussing with your doctor and see if the condition improves. If not, treatment line needs to be identified and admission for observation (not because he is critically I'll) is advisable.
Let me know if I could help further.
