What Causes Watery Discharge From Ears?
Otitis externa or Recurrent Otitis media
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query; I'll try my best to help you with this problem.
After going through the history of yours, I am of the opinion that you could be suffering from either Otitis externa (inflammation of the outer ear) or Recurrent Otitis Media. The serous or watery discharge is predominantly seen in either of these conditions, but, crusting is a feature of otitis externa.
Also, if you can provide me further details regarding your habits such as smoking or any medical conditions such as Diabetes, Psoriasis, etc., it will be easy for me to help you out with this problem.
Meanwhile, avoid using any ear drops and clean the ear with a wet cotton soaked in warm saline.
Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow-up queries.

I will try your remedy but wanted to confirm this was not something I needed to see a physician immediately.

It is wiser to consult your doctor at the earliest
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing back and providing additional information.
My humble suggestion to you is to avoid smoking. Smoking is one of the commonest causes of inflammation of the outer and middle ear.
Secondly, it is wiser to consult your doctor at the earliest, but, it's not an Emergency. The sooner we treat the ear, the lesser is trauma to the skin and the middle ear (if any infection is present).
Do not worry! It's a treatable cause and nothing dangerous.
I wish you good health.
