What Causes Weakness And Constant Leg Pain After Complete Resuscitation And Pacemaker Placement?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Nov 2015
Question: I had a V-tac problem which resulted in complete resuscitation and a pace maker the end of July. I still do not feel good. I am very weak and my legs hurt all of the time. Is this normal. My Cardeologest does not want to talk about the situation stating I should feel better.

Brief Answer:
You can start using supplements, pain killers and monitor for response

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic!

First of all, based on the history you have shared, I am sorry to hear about, what you had gone through. Thankfully though, the resuscitation and pacing has worked out well, as cardiologist must be comfortable with your outcomes regarding that, and hence had reassured you after examining you from that perspective.

As for this new issue of leg pains and weakness, it can be entirely different entity and may not be related to your heart issues.

You need to get uric acid, blood random sugars and ESR checked, to rule out few conditions which cause such troubles. Looking for levels of B12, B6, D3, calcium, and folic acid may also reveal any minerals deffiencieny. You can start taking D3 and calcium supplements alongwith B complex after discussion with your GP.

Using analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen for temporary relief every once in a while when pains are out of proportion are ok but don't make it a routine.

Hoping you a speedy recovery. If you dont have any more questions, please close the discussion. You can also reach me through my profile in future for any more queries. Regards.
