Question: I recently returned to Australia from a short trip to the UK. A day after my return I developed flu like symptoms. 2 days later they disappeared. I had eaten very little. I tried to go to work today, but while shaving, my legs became very weak and I was short of breath. I could not stand. Then both hands and wrists spasmed and tingled. My wife helped me lie on the bed and I seemed ok again after 30 minutes

Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to a viral infection.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through the details provided and understand your concerns. It seems that you have caught a cold, an infection caused due to certain viruses. Take paracetamol or acetaminophen. Also take juicy fruits like citrus fruits since they contain plenty of potassium which is essential for proper muscle contractions. I think that you would get relief. The symptoms should resolve completely in a few days.

A clinical examination would have yielded valuable clues. So, if still apprehensive, please visit a doctor to get yourself evaluated.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
