What Causes Weakness In The Legs And Loss Of Balance While Having Diabetes?
Question: I am having trouble walking or standing for 10 minutes or less. My legs get weak and I have to sit down before I fall down. I have type II diabetes and I have difficulty maintaining my balance. I had a stroke two years ago but recovered. My symptoms are getting worse. Are these symptoms linked to my diabetes?
Brief Answer:
Yes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your query.
Definitely, diabetes can cause it via glove and stocking pattern.
But other causes may be there like vitamin B 12 deficiency, lumbar canal stenosis or stroke which may be transient.
So, to make exact diagnosis, get fasting blood sugar levels, HbA1c levels, vitamin B12 levels checked, MRI Lumbosacral region done and send me the report.
Also get your morning Blood pressure checked regularly.
Till then, keeping taking medication you are already having.
But include cap. pregabalin75mg+methylcobalamine750mcg at night.
I hope it helps.
Thanks,
