What Causes White, Hard And Crusty Material In The Urine?
Question: I keep my overnight urine in a clear container for convience, it accumulates white, hard, crusty material that lines the bottom. When cleaning the material cracks and comes off in pieces. What is it?
Brief Answer:
might be cast or stones, requires examination, go for urine routine
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I would like to know the reason for collecting urine, are you having any symptoms like burning micturition, increased frequency, pain abdomen or any thing else.
Is there any history of renal stones.
They may be cast or small stones, but you require a urine routine examination (to rule out uti) KUB x-ray ( for stones in urinary tract ) to confirm. So I would suggest you to go for this.
And kindly provide information that I have asked above.
Take care

No, i keep a urinal handy so i dont disturb my partner through the night. I drink alot of water so i tend to urinate frequently overnight. Yes, i do have a history of kidney stones, if that is what you are asking. Also, i think i can describe the settled buildup in the container as more cyristiline, but uniformly distributed on the bottom of the container...

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome, good to hear from you.
OK, now it is better to rule out both urinary tract infection and stones in the urinary tract. Kindly see general surgeon for examination and for the investigation mentioned above.
It seems to be calcium sediment from your description. However it is better to comment on the crystals that you have mentioned after examining them under the microscope.
It may clear up by drinking cleaner water.
Take care
