default
Posted on Fri, 25 Nov 2016
Question: I am over chewing my food now could this be anxiety or throar cancer I feel like I have to think about swallowing in order to do so I do not have trouble getting food down my throat it just seems that I have to make my self swallowing and that causes the food to.pack my jaws full. I've notied it for the last 2 weeks i.also.had a sinus infection when this started. Some meals I'll eat without thinking about it and I don't have a problem at all and others I anticipate it before.I even eat and i.notice the issue. I have chewed skoal for 5 years that's why I'm really worried it is throat cancer. I gp.to the dentist every 6 month I went 5 months ago and everything was perfect and he said he could not tell I ever used skoal and I do.not swallow the skoal. Is this throat cancer I'm 26 years old

I also have a white layer on the back of my tounge near my taste buds that I can scrape off

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

Your concern is appreciated

The signs and symptoms of throat cancer are cough, ear pain, changes in your voice, difficulty in swallowing, a lump and weight loss and those of oral cancer are a sore that doesn't heal or which bleeds, difficulty in chewing, tongue pain, loose teeth, a growth or thickening of lining of your mouth, jaw pain or stiffness. If you are experiencing one of these symptoms you should have proper examination done and investigation too. Tobacco chewing is a risk factor for developing oral cancer but you donot have any symptoms to suggest that . White patch any where in mouth is of concern when it cant be scraped off which is significant for leucoplakia. Over thinking should be avoided because it can only result into unnecessary anxiety.

Hope it helps
Thanks.
