What Causes White Patchy Tongue, Bleeding Gums And Jaw Popping?
Question: I've had this white patchy stuff on my tongue for months now it comes and goes but for the most time I see it almost everyday I brush my teeth twice daily and brush my tongue. I do smoke methamphetamines also. Also sometimes out of nowhere my gums will just start bleeding real bad when I'm just driving or watching tv. What could it be? My jaw also pops when I yawn.
Brief Answer:
give up methamphetamine
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to healthcaremagic,
There are many causes for white patchy tongue, commonest being - oral thrush, Coated tongue, bad oral hygiene, geographic tongue, smoking cigarettes, dry mouth, smoking methamphetamine. Kindly describe the patchy stuff and please upload a photo of it so that I am better able to help.
Methamphetamine can also cause bleeding from the gums.
Please give up smoking meth. Your oral problems will go away.
Your jaw popping has nothing to do with meth. Support your jaw while yawning.

How do I send the pic on here? Also could my jaw be from a car wreck I was in 2 years ago and I'm just now having the symptoms of jaw popping loudly?
I know a lot of meth users don't brush their teeth but I brush mine twice daily and floss and use mouthwash.

Brief Answer:
stop methamphetamine use
Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
Inspite of brushing, flossing, if you continue to use meth, the symptoms will not go away. Your symptoms are not because of poor oral hygiene, hence brushing , flossing will not make them go away. They are related to meth use, so once you stop using, your symptoms will vanish.
If your jaw has been alright for 2 years after the crash and is acting up only lately then it is probably not related to the crash. Do not eat hard foods for a few days and do not open your mouth wide. This will rest the jaw and it will get better.
