Question: Hi im a 33 yearold male and have been pooping blonde stool the last two days, not really any discomfort but ive been getting off of suboxone because i used to have a problem with vicodin. Ive been taking l-5-hydroxytryptophan, ginkgo biloba, centrum for men and some milk thistle a couple of days ago just so you know. The blonde stool has happened before a year or two ago, kinda worried :(

Brief Answer: Detailed below. Detailed Answer: Hello! Thank you for the query. Whitish stools (if thats what you mean by blonde stool) indicate lack of bilirubin secretion. This can be caused by bile ducts obstruction, pancreas cancer or liver issues. You should have also dark urine, itchy skin, yellowish skin. Some abdominal pain can be present. If your stool is yellow, but not white, bacterial infection should be considered in first row. I suggest you to have abdominal ultrasound, blood work, liver tests, urine analysis in case of whitish stools. In case of yellowish stools, please start with probiotic intake. If it wont help, stool tests should be done. Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions. Regards.
