What Causes White Vaginal Discharge Post Recovery From Yeast Infection?

Need more information
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am Dr. Kakkar (MD, skin and STDs). I have read your question and I have also reviewed the Image.
I can see some white grey discharge in this image.
I would like to gather some more information from you in order to be able to guide you better.
Are you sexually active? If yes, with single or multiple sexual partners? When was your last sexual contact? Does it smell fishy or foul?
I suspect a possibility of gonorrhea/ chlamydia (if you are sexually active) Or bacterial vaginosis (more common in sexually active or can sometimes happen even otherwise)
Yeast infection is unlikely as the discharge is often thick creamy/ curdy in yeast infection rather than thin, whitish or greyish. Moreover yeast infection should have resolved with Oral fluconazole.
Regards

Bacterial vaginosis is very likely
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you.
This is likely due to bacterial vaginosis which is due to alteration of vaginal bacterial flora. Though, bacterial vaginosis is more common in sexually active females however it can happen in females who are not sexually active. The discharge is thin, whitish or greyish in bacterial vaginosis.
I would treat you empirically for bacterial vaginosis. I suggest a tablet of metronidazole 400mg, three times daily, for a week.
Regards

Resistance is not a problem in immunocompetent indiividuals
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
They can happen in an individual, at different sites. Did your thrush respond? Resistance to fluconazole is not much of a problem in imunocompetent individuals. However, candida can be come resistant in immunocompromised individuals e.g Hiv Or organ transplant recipients.

Metronidazole for a week
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Yes, the discharge is more like thin, whitsh/ greyish rather than clumpy. This is not due to yeast. This is most likely bacterial vaginosis and as I suggested, Oral metronidazole should take care of it within a week. Moreover, you have already taken treatment with Oral fluconazole for 2 weeks and with this yeast infection should have resolved within a week.
Regards
