Question: Our son 46 has RA he is taking PREDNISONE AND METROTAXSATE injectable-he get very sick-vomiting-red and purple spots on his body-right now he is in so much pain his shoulder and arm are unmovable We are 71-75 of age and my husband is on oxcygen-24/7-Jim has lost his health ins due to a divorce-please counsel us on how to help him in his pain

Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Since he is in so much pain some antiinflammatories like etoricoxib needs to be given to relieve the pain . Plus am worried about the red purple spots that he is getting , it may be vasculitis that he is getting which will require immediate attention . His hemogram , liver function tests and renal functions need to be done before considering any kind of treatment. I will suggest he visits his treating doctor and discuss about those tests. Any other question please ask .
