Hypothyroidism is likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to HealthcareMagic!
I read carefully your query and understand your concerns.
Your symptoms are very indicative for thyroid dysfunction (Hypothyroidism or underactive thyroid gland).
In this case thyroid gland doesn't produce enough hormones.Since thyroid hormones are essential in all metabolic processes in the body ,in hypothyroidism the body metabolism is slow down.
Symptoms of hypothyroidism develop slowly over some years and include:
-Progressive fatigue
-muscle weakness
-Increased sensitivity to cold
-Unexplained weight gain
-dry skin,thinning hair
-muscle aches and stiffness .
Since few years ago your thyroid gland was sluggish ,most likely your symptoms are due to hypothyroidism.
You need to get examined and test your thyroid function.
You should run some tests to know if your thyroid gland is producing enough thyroid hormones .These tests include: FT3 ,FT4 and TSH.
Thyroid gland ultrasound may be necessary.
If FT3 and FT4 levels are low and TSH level is high ,then you have hypothyroidism and need treatment.
Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other questions or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.
