Dear XXXX
Candida usually does not cause systemic infection. Presence of systemic or also known as invasive fungal infection usually occurs in Immunocompromised individuals, patients receiving long term steroids, transplant individuals.
Systemic Fungal infection is usually associated with other systemic signs like Tacchycardia, Hypotension and usually the individual is very sick and is usually in Septicemia.
Diagnosis of invasive fungal infection is possible by Blood culture and also ELISA test for candidiasis.
