What Causes Yellow Discolouration At The Surgical Incision Site On The Face?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hello! I'm attaching an image of an excision site on the side of my face. I had what my dermatologist believed to be was an interdermal nevus removed this past Tuesday (four days ago). I had it removed by a plastic surgeon, who said he used internal dissolvable sutures and that the outside was closed with surgical glue and the piece of tape placed over it. I was told to leave the tape in place for one week and keep the area dry.
Just today i noticed some yellow coloration in the area aroud the tape....is that normal or is it anything to be concerned about??
Thank you for your help!!

Brief Answer:
Yellow discolouration seems normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and can appreciate the yellow discolouration.
This is normal as a result of trauma to the skin during the surgery.
It will resolve in some days.
No need to worry.
