Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to worm infestation

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Namasthe
Dear Mr XXXXXXX ,

Its unlikely for a girl of 5 years to present with discharge from vagina especially purulent. Whitish discharge could be sometimes present.
As there is no foul smell, no pain in abdomen and no redness its unlikely to be of serious nature.

Even then it will require a thorough clinical examination. Being Pediatric Surgeon , I encounter several such cases. I would like to rule out following two abnormalities

1. Worm Infestation: very much likely . It may or may not be associated with itching.
2. Urogenital sinus: Normally when labial lips are separated there will be two opening , upper one of urethra and lower vagina which is normal. In some girls there could be only one opening(urethra directly opening into vagina). Simple examination of genitalia by Pediatrician/Pediatric Surgeon will rule it out.
3. Foreign body: Its unlikely in your daughter as there is no foul smelling discharge, fever and pain in abdomen.

Simple examination by physician will solve it out.

In the meantime, I would suggest you the following
1. Hot Seitz bath: To a tub of lukewarm water add a handful of common table salt. Make baby sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes. twice a day. Adding a spoon of vinegar will be helpful.
2. Clotrimazole Dusting powder twice daily application.
3. Tablet Albendazole 400 mg one dose and one dose after 1 week: Its deworming agent

In case you require any further assistance, will be glad to assist you

Take Care
