Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this infection. Honestly, this is a very difficult site for an infection to be completely eradicated within a short time. This infection requires a minimum of 4-6weeks of antibiotics for complete treatment. You would need to exercise patience and compliance to make sure that this infection is fully addressed.
In all, it is the right antibiotic for mycoplasma. However, treatment takes long and you should be patient for at least 4-6weeks before we can say the treatment isn’t successful. It is to early to suspect treatment failure.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
I would say a 2weeks after the end of treatment.

Hi,
I would suggest you get a control at least 2weeks after treatment. if you are feeling fine and have no further symptoms, there is no reason to get worried because this would be a clear proof that the infection was fully treated. I will only recommend further testing if symptoms persist. I will not also recommend another drug at this time unless the control shows we were not successful. At times not succeeding is not caused by failure of antibiotic but the difficulty for this drug to get into the prostate. That is why your doctor had been doing massages to help with eradicating the infectious site.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks and feel free to keep the discussion going if need be.
does mycoplasma have the ability to live outside the body on your hands etc? Basically can it be transmited without actual intercourse such as manual stimulation (foreplay) etc? Thanks
Mycoplasma can only live within a cell!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up question.
Mycoplasma depends on the host cells for survival. For these reasons, you need close contact for transmission and it goes from one person to another. You cannot find it in the environment as it would all die without being in a living cell.
Fro transmission, it needs close contact so much that as it leaves the infected person it gets into target. Close contact is necessary.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
