Suggest Treatment For UTI
Question: This is the third time within one year i am having systems of UTI along with pain in tail bone region and pelvis region. Every time Urine cultural cames out normal. However for the first time urologist asked for Semen culture which shows Staphylococcus haemolyticus.
My urologist said no need for antibiotics as this is going on for a long time(1 year). U have mild pain he said learn to live with it. Treatment will be even more harsh then the disease itself. He just gave me Alfoo 10 mg to reduce pain.
I am a little scared as the infection is detected in semen it may cause infertility in long run.
Kindly suggest best treatment. If possible i would like to get rid of this infection.

Based on the facts and report of your semen analysis that you have posted you seem to have problem of repeated episodes of Chronic Prostatitis the causative organisms being Streptococcus Haemolyticus .
Your semen culture report has revealed organisms sensitive to few antibiotics .
I do agree the fact that Chronic Prostatitis can not be cured completely however I failed to understand the logic behind not prescribing any antibiotic when culture reports is available indicating the antibiotic sensitivity pattern .
With recent culture report that you have posted I would suggest you to start taking Nitrofurantoin twice daily .This is one of the safest antibiotic with no side effect and can be taken for long duration of up to 4-6 months .
Take anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily for 2-3 weeks .
This will help to alleviate the symptom like Pain in pelvic region and at tail bone
Repeat your semen culture after 2 months and take a call regarding continuation of antibiotic .
