What Do Bloated Abdomen And Lack Of Periods Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 30 Aug 2016
Question: I am 52, been without a period for 6yrs, but still have all my female equipment and in the last couple months my stomach, abdoman area is steadily getting bigger and getting uncomfortable especially in the lower rib area. I did the old fashion bleach/urine test and it came up positive, like 6 times at all hrs of the day. And I did a hpt test and it came up negative. I don't know what to do.

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy not likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
If the urine HPT is negative then pregnancy is not likely. It is a more accurate test. The increase in size of abdominal area can be due to bloating or fat deposition. It is best to get an ultrasound scan done and find out. Pregnancy can best be ruled out by a blood test.
