What Do Circular Small White Spots On Leg Indicate?

Question: Hi,

I recently noticed two circular small white spot in leg. Can this be Leukoderma? Need to know corrective action I need to take from my end.

Thanks for writing to us.
These circular white spots could be leukoderma or post inflammatory hypoigmentation( ie due to any previous skin condition at the same spot like insect bite/boil/eczema/trauma etc).

We can only confirm its diagnosis as leukoderma, if such milky white spots develop spontaneously at at other body areas too.

Now whether its vitiligo or post inflammatory hypopigmentation, treatment remains same. Had you been my patient, I would have prescribed
1) A strong steroid cream like clobetasol once in night over affected area
2) Tacrolimus ointment 0.1% twice in a day

You may follow this prescription for three weeks and get back for follow up.
