What Do Cluster Of Bumps Near Elbow Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Feb 2015
Question: Yesterday, when I was about to go to bed, I noticed a cluster of bumps near my right elbow. They seem to have diminished in size since then. Tonight though, I have just noticed new bumps on my other arm. They run in a perfect line, and there are three of them. They don't hurt or anything, but I have no idea why they are showing up.

They don't itch at all, but I do have other areas on my body that look similar. As far as I know, nobody else in my family has this, but I'm in college right now, so I don't see them for a couple weeks at a time. I don't have any illness right now, or anything like diabetes. I recently went to a hotel a little over two weeks ago. Could these bumps be from bedbugs? I've seen similar looking things online from other people.

Brief Answer:
Most probably allergic response to insect bite

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them and concluded that you most probably are suffering from allergic response to insect bite/dust. Bite results in release of chemicals which causes local irritation or swelling. Sometimes they are restricted to that specific area & in some cases it may spread. First of all you need not to worry. Hopefully they will resolve in few days. If i were your treating doctor then would have advised following things:

> take levocetirizine one at night for 5 days.
> normally topical application on rash is not required in such cases but you can try fusidic acid ointment as well.
> clean your bedding thoroughly & if possible change your bed-sheet
> avoid contact with dust & insects(to the best of your ability)
> do not scratch the rash else they will leave scar.

If they do not improve in 3-4 days or condition becomes aggravated then you'll have to visit a local doctor for examination and further workup.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
