What Do Diastolic Notch In Left Artery During Pregnancy Suggest?
Usually disappears after 30 weeks.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
At 16 -18 weeks of pregnancy it is perfectly normal for one or both main uterine arteries to show an early diastolic notch. As pregnancy advances this notch disappears. It reflects the relationship between the growing placenta and the muscles and blood vessels in the uterus. These notches can persist sometimes in late pregnancy also but it is not suggestive of any abnormal pathology. So even at 27 weeks there is nothing to worry. In case the notch persists after 34 weeks then it can be suggestive of decreased fetal growth or fetal distress at birth.

I want to know if this is normal, then is it compulsory to take Argilive and Loprin R 75 as prescribed by my doctor.
I am asking this because I am already taking 4 medicines as part of regular requirement.
Supracal TM HD, Uprise D3 2K, Folinext D and Orofer XT.
I dont want to take too much of medicines but could not understand what is important and what not.
All the medicines are for your baby's well being.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The medicines you are taking now are to meet ypour normal requirements of pregnancy. Supracal TM HD is calcium supplement. Uprise D3 fulfils teh vitamin D3 requirement. Folinext-D is for baby's brain and neural tube development. Orofer XT is to help maintain the hemoglobin.
The medicines prescribed now- Argilive and Loprin will increase the placental blood circulation and will decrease the chances of fetal growth retardation in case the diastolic notch persists beyond 30 weeks.
Hope my answer is helpful.
