Question: Hello,
Had feint positive pregnancy test this morning after fertility tratment but have had light brownish spotting since Sat. Taken last cyclogest pessary this morning after 15 day course but worried about stopping them with the spotting. As I am unable to obtain further cyclogest at the moment would Norethisterone be an ok alternative as I have some leftover from begining of cycle!

Brief Answer:
norethisterone is not to be used ...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
CYCLOGEST is natural micronized progesterone and hence norethisterone is not a replacement for cyclogest. Tomorrow you may get a fresh pack and should continue cyclogest for another week . You may get a serial serum beta hcg test after a week and viability of the foetus can be determined by the levels of hcg, if there is a 65% rise in the subsequent hcg level after 48 hrs gap.
