default
Posted on Fri, 24 Jul 2015
Question: My sistet-in-law recently got through the cabin crew position in one of the airlines. They have a pretty-employment medical test. It was done at their suggested place which showed some abnormal results and therefore they suggested her to get the tests done once again with any other doc. Consequently she got her tests done for:
1. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone; and
2. SGPT & SGOT in liver

The recent reports are out and the doctor is relrctant in giving her opinion.

I am attaching both the reports initial and final, kindly have a thorough look and please provide the feedback.

Brief Answer:
Deranged LFT and raised TSH

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

The initial tests shows raised TSH which indicates hypothyroidism and raised SGOT and SGPT levels.
Raised SGOT and SGPT can occur due to many causes. The second list of tests were done to know what is causing the raised liver enzymes. The common causes like Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and autoimmune hepatitis are found to negative as per the reports.

Other causes like fatty liver disease and XXXXXXX disease should be ruled out.
An ultrasound scan of the abdomen and serum ceruloplasmin test should be done.
The liver function test may be done after 4 weeks.

I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if there are any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
