What Do My Blood Test Results Indicate?
Some information about your urinalysis
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
So... the squamous cells (many) means that skin cells from the labia were picked up as you urinated, making the specimen somewhat contaminated with skin things. This happens often.
But I am concerned about two things:
1. Blood cells: this could have been picked up from the skin if you recently had a period, or irritation to the urethra. Should be repeated with a "clean catch" just to make sure there is nothing else is going on.
2. Ketones: Ketones are most commonly a sign of diabetes. But if your blood tests, including sugars, were fine, then it could be from other things. These include:
Abnormal food or nutrition intake due to eating disorders, fasting, high protein or low carbohydrate diet
vomiting
Burns
Fever
Hyperthyroidism
Nursing a baby
Pregnancy
So, I think you should follow up with your doctor to discuss the presence of ketones, and to repeat the UA if you don't know of an obvious reason for the v. small amount of blood.
I hope this information helps.
