What Do My Blood Test Results Indicate?

Question: Hello. I received my blood test results today. AST (SGOT) of 46 U/L, but my provider noted a range of 0-66 U/L. My AOLT (SGPT) was only 19 U/L, with provider's normal range of 06-69 U/L. I looked at ratios online and also found out that most ratios for AST that I found online went up to around 44. In this case, would my ration be 2.42? Or the inverse? I was very alarmed. The nurse replied that the results were within range, but that if any questions, contact Adult Medicine. I am alarmed. I used to drink alot, but no longer drink.
I meant to say that I saw that most ranges for AST that I saw online went to 44, not 66. The part about the ratios I studied myself. I deduced that 46/19 is 2.42 which would almost suggest that I have cirrhosis. Or am I wrong on that ratio?
Or, is this ratio only important if each number is elevated? Or one of the numbers?

Brief Answer:
Lab results are normal.
Detailed Answer:
HI.
Thanks for posting your query.
In a healthy woman, AST 46 and ALT 19 are absolutely normal.
NO need to worry.
The ratio is usually calculated if the values of both ( ALT and AST) are above 100 and ratio reflects a cause of liver disease.
You made a good move to abstain from drinking alcohol.
In your case, values of AST and ALT are within NORMAL range and there is NO need for further investigation.
Any further questions are most welcome.
Hope to answer your concern.
Wish you good and sound health.
Regards,
Dr Tayyab Malik
