What Do My Chest X-ray And Blood Test Reports Indicate?
Question: Hi Dr I want a cardiologist opinion.
My son 4.4 years has adenoiditis from a year.under ent and pead.Dr he is given metaspray and levocitrizn montelukant.and under treatment.ent Dr advised no need of surgery now as he responds with conservative treatment.
Yesterday we went to general check up,so we want to make sure his heart and lungs are good.pead Dr taken chest xray and blood reports I attached.
My son symptoms mouth breath during cold, snoring sleep.....when cold is severe(if he gets secretion) more snoring and his sternum moves in while sleeping as he gets difficult breathing this happens occasionally...... Once cold is relieved he comes to normal.
I want to make sure his heart n lungs are good in xray?
Will adenoid cause heart overload?
He don't have tonsils

Brief Answer:
Reports look normal
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for query. Apologies for delayed response.
I have gone through the reports and they are normal. Yes there would be two things going through our mind when encountered with child history you describe One is if there is an additional cause beyond adenoids as cause for symptoms and second thing if the infection streptococcal infection there would be possible rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. However neither seems to be the reason or cause of concern in your child's case. Everything he is suffering seem to come from adenoids. Treating them should suffice.
Regards and take care

Brief Answer:
Culture and ASLO titre
Detailed Answer:
streptococcal infection when clinically suspected and considered possible are diagnosed by doing culture of throat swab (Throat is cleaned/rubbed with cotton mounted on stick or spatula) and cultured. also indirectly by blood test called ASLO. The leg pains you describe are not rheumatic. in that case they will be prolonged for weeks and very incapacitating
