What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2015
Question: I am 44. I have a serious back condition which I take Norco at 5 to 6 times a day 10/325. I have NEVER been comfortable taking this med. Until I was 40 I was completely and totally healthy and would never inject toxic chemical for any reason. I am 5 11 at 135 lbs. I still try to dance or do yoga every day to try and strengthen my core. In just there was trace blood in my urine. Follow up test includes and full blood and urine panel and a CT of my kidneys as I demanded a full work up. In other words, I made sure there was nothing wrong with my kidney or liver. For the past five days I have had bubbles in my urine. Sometimes there are several and sometimes there are only one or two. Most of them pop pretty quickly. The bubbles are not foam like. Of course, I am worried that the meds have done damage. I plan to see my doctor this week but I am looking for additional information I what this could be. My color of urine is OK. I drink a TON of water. Assuming this is from the meds, will it clear up if I stop taking it? As usual I'm scared and hyper sensitive when it comes to my health.

Brief Answer:
Get evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
It's not about getting hypersensitive, it's about taking care of your health. And I appreciate people who take care of there health.
Bubbles in Urine can be found normally but can also represent Urinary tract infection, Protein in Urine.
Since you have been on pain killers so definitely you need evaluation for kidney problems.
I would recommend you to get a Urine routine and microscopy, kidney function test performed. If the reports are normal then you should just drink plenty and no further intervention is needed and this would go away on itself.
If any infection or kidney dysfunction is found you would be treated accordingly.
So till you get tested drink plenty of fluids and in case you develop any fever then you need immediate attention.
I hope it helps you.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
Stay Healthy.

Thank you. If kidney dysfunction is found at this point, will I be OK? Should I go to the ER? I don't want to over react but I'm really scared. It's not kidney failure is it?
