What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Apr 2017
Question: I've had several urine tests and at least one blood test. I've had one general ultrasound and all are negative for pregnancy. I've gained 7 pounds each month for the last 3 months. My belly is tight and larger. Hormones seem out of whack with pregnancy symptoms coming and going. My doctor thinks it's all in my head. I have pcos and cyst on ovary. Painful sex with seemingly swollen vaginal walls with sex. How can I either confirm what I feel to get treatment or should I accept what I am being told? I've never been pregnant to my knowledge. My hands and feet are swollen. I'm exhausted and appetite increases at times and I get headaches more lately. Bleeding hasn't stopped montly but is weird. Sometimes scanty or may flow one day then spot. Very irritable and depressed at times. I swear my pulse in hand is stronger and even my husband felt it when holding my hand. Upper belly round and tight also constipated daily. Period like cramps when not on and at night it seems that slight movement is present. Can't seem to get any doctor to dig a little deeper.

Brief Answer:
If blood pregnancy test is negative, then you are not pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

If the blood pregnancy test is also negative, it means that you are not pregnant.

There is hormonal imbalance in women with PCOD.
Quite often they do not ovulate regularly. That is the reason you do not have regular periods. Around the age of 45 also there can be irregular ovulation causing irregular cycles.

Women with PCOD put on weight fast because of the hormonal variations in their body. Consult dietician and join a gym to reduce weight and maintain your BMI to less than 25kg/M2. Regular exercises does bring improvements in all your symptoms. Do get screened for diabetes.

I hope this is helpful.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.

Best wishes,
Dr Rama
