Question: My question is: Would you consider that if the kidneys were operating with Creatinine and GFR readings between 275 / 22 and 450 / 12 for a full month – (the worst period being 11 days with creatinine being between 355 and 450) – that other body organs and systems might be affected by the contaminated blood flow?

Brief Answer:
pulmonary edema

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking in HCM

I can understand your concern.

Concerning respiratory system (mainly the lungs), during a kidnay failure (which means the blood not filtered), the only damage is the overloads of the liquids in them,or in other words,Pulmonary Edema.

This is a common condition in these situation. And fortunately diuretics can resolve it fast.

One other organ that may be be damaged too from high levels of creatinin is the brain .

If it happens it is not a good sign for the kidneys, which means that the dialysis or the ultrafiltration of the blood might not help so much anymore.

I hope this info have been helpful for you
